About Reservations
Q. Is my reservation confirmed immediately?
A. Your reservation will be confirmed after we check vehicle availability.
Within 24 hours of your request, we will send you a confirmation email along with payment instructions.
Driver’s License Requirements
Q. Can I drive with a standard driver’s license?
A. A valid Japanese standard driver’s license (AT permitted) is accepted.
For foreign visitors, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
Visitors from the following countries do not need an IDP but must present an official Japanese translation of their license:
Taiwan, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Monaco.
Some nationalities may require a Japanese driver’s license.
Countries not participating in the 1949 Geneva Convention (such as China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Qatar, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, etc.) are not eligible to drive with an IDP in Japan.
What to Bring on the Day
Q. What should I bring on the rental day?
A. Please bring the following:
- A valid driver’s license (Japanese or International)
- Your reservation confirmation email (digital copy is acceptable)
*We cannot release the vehicle without verifying your driver’s license.
Payment Methods
Q. What payment methods are accepted?
A. We require advance payment by credit card via Square.
A secure payment link will be sent to you after your reservation is confirmed.
Cancellation Fees
Q. What are the cancellation fees?
A. Cancellation fees are applied based on the rental start date and time:
- Up to 7 days before: Free
- 6 to 3 days before: 30% of the rental fee
- 2 days to 1 day before: 50% of the rental fee
- On the day (before start time) or No-show: 100% of the rental fee
Cancellation & Refund After Payment
Q. If I cancel after payment, how will the refund be processed?
A. In accordance with our cancellation policy, the applicable cancellation fee will be deducted, and the remaining balance will be refunded to your credit card.
Refunds are processed through Square.
The timing of the refund may vary depending on your credit card company and can take several days to a few weeks.
Driving Area
Q. Can I drive on highways?
A. TukTuks are not permitted on expressways or motorways.
They may only be driven on regular public roads.
Weather Conditions
Q. Can I use the TukTuk on rainy days?
A. The vehicle is equipped with a rain cover, so it can be used in light rain.
However, in case of storm warnings or when we determine that conditions are unsafe, the rental may be canceled for safety reasons.
Pick-up & Delivery Service
Q. Do you offer pick-up or delivery service?
A. Delivery and pick-up within Motobu Town may be available upon request.
